Ava & Bridgette

These two little girls are like two peas in a pod, they love playing with each other!  Ava was so excited Bridgette was coming in town for the weekend, the two were going to have a great time together, and they did!

They went swimming, they danced, they had dinner together, they drew pictures, and just totally enjoyed each other's company!  They are only two years old, but already love hanging out!! :)

VIDEO: Ava "helping" Bridgette put on shoes and socks, and both of them finding it very funny!  Note: Ava is wearing an outfit she put together.  It started off as a purple shirt and gray shorts, but then she decided to layer a dress on top that happened to be inside-out.  She is such a little fashionista, knowing what is trendy and in fashion at the moment. :)

Ava the monkey

Like mother, like daughter... Ava climbs on everything!!  She is so strong, and can manage to get up on anything she chooses.  She may be petite, but she is determined!

Yesterday when we got home from school Ava wanted some Rice Crispies treats that I had made.  We were trying to make dinner and divert her attention to something else, but instead she managed to climb halfway on the counter, grab the entire pan of dessert, get it down off the counter, and run off with it into the tv room!

You cannot take your eyes off that little one for one second, since you don't know where she may end up!!!  And now, Alex has started rolling over too, so no more peace for mommy! :) haha

Alex is laughing!! :)

Alex has the most delicious laugh and the sweetest smile.  He shares it often and easily and makes my day!  The only thing is that the more he laughs, the more likely he will get hiccups... still I can't help but try to make him laugh, it is too cute for words.

He is just the sweetest little boy.  His teacher at school LOVES him, she is an older Greek woman, who just treats him as though he was her own grandson.  She cuddles him, makes him giggle, and enjoys all the smiles, coos, and laughs he gives her.  The other day she said "Alex is so loveable, I mean he is ... adorable...he is just so sweet, alert, smart... he seems older than he is, he pays so much attention to everything going on around him.  Everyone loves to see him, he is just so sweet!... and I am not telling you this because you are his mother, I am telling you this because it is true."  She is funny and seems to be searching for the proper translation in English to express how she feels...something I can easily relate to.  I wouldn't be surprised, though, if Alex starts speaking Greek as well :)

Ava and her swim lessons

This summer we decided to enroll Ava in swim lessons that were taking place in our neighborhood pool.  Ava got to take private classes with Coach Marty, a very sweet coach who was very patient with Ava as Ava got to know her.  It was only a 3 week course of 2 classes/week, but Ava is now more comfortable in the water, learning proper techniques, not as afraid of putting her face in the water, blowing bubbles, and will even let me dunk her completely under really quick!  She is even learning to truly hold her breath. :)

She loved playing in the water and when I would tell her it was time to go swimming, she would say she wanted to go to Coach Marty's house (because of course her coach lives at the pool :) ).  Below are a couple pictures of her adventure :)

Ava's new swimsuit from Quequel... just in time, as she has been making great use of the swimsuit she got for her birthday :)
