Traditions, traditions! Our annual visit to the pumpkin patch!

Continuing our tradition, this was our third annual visit to the pumpkin patch.  Ava and Alex absolutely loved it!  When we told Ava we were going, she responded "Oh wow! I'm so excited! I can't wait to go to the pumpkin patch!!!"

The weather was a little cool, but it made for a nice autumn day... right around 62 degrees, sunny, a little breezy, and beautiful blue skies.  With it being the last weekend that the pumpkin patch was going to be open, we couldn't pass it up.  Vovo and Voovoo were able to come with us, and we had a great time!

We took tons of pictures, so there are plenty to see below.  Of course getting everyone to look at the camera and smile at the same time is rather impossible, but we tried ;)

Alex was "Mr. Cool" riding in the wagon

We all went for a hayride pulled by a tractor.  The kids LOVED it!

Alex thought the tractor was so cool!

My sweet girl is getting so big!

Alex and Ava loved pretending the pumpkins were drums

...so much fun! :)

Ava! You are so STRONG!

Not to be left behind, Alex too tried to pick up the biggest pumpkin he could find!

What a treat to have Quequel and Marcelo here!

What an amazing gift to get to have Marcelo and Quequel here with us for 5 days!!  It was so fun to see them and see her wonderful little belly with Malu inside.  What made it even more amazing was the surprise arrival of Tia Stela and Tio Paulo who made a long layover here on their way back to Brazil from Germany!

Ava had been counting down the weeks until Quequel's arrival!
Ava: Mommy, how many more weeks until my Quequel comes to my house?
Me: Quequel will be here in 3 weeks!
Ava: I want Quequel to stay in my room and sleep in my bed with me all night!
Me: What about Marcelo?
Ava: Marcelo is going to help me build a really big castle with my blocks.

Quequel and Marcelo arrived from California on Wednesday night.  We ordered pizza, talked, enjoyed our patio outdoors, and Ava and Alex were wired!  Ava had skipped her nap, so periodically she would get a little sassy and talk back when we asked her to do something different.  Though anytime Mommy or Daddy called her attention, she would immediately tell us "I'm going to tell my cousin!" and turned to Quequel to say "Quequel, my Mommy is not being nice to me".  Quequel didn't know what to do at first, being put on the spot like that by a 3 year old! ;)  At one point, already way past her bedtime, I had to bring Ava inside to have a conversation about being rude.  As we were talking in the living room, Ava kept looking outside, feeling a little uneasy about seeing a car that had just parked in front of our house.  To help calm her, we went towards the front door to see that there was nothing to be afraid of.  As we looked out the window, the car doors opened, and out came Tia Stela and Tio Paulo!  I was so shocked, confused, and excited.  We went out to greet them... though Ava seemed totally confused!  She ran to the backyard to announce that "tia Stela is here!".  Quequel thought Ava must be confused, since her parents were in Germany, but the look on her face was priceless when she realized Ava was telling the truth!  Such a fantastic surprise!

The rest of the days were filled with TONS of shopping for baby items for baby Malu, and enjoying each other's company.  Bobby & family even came down from Dallas, and we also got to celebrate Grandpa's 71st birthday.  Daddy also got tickets from Grandpa and took Tio Paulo and Marcelo to see a Texans game - they had a great time!

I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was having too much fun actually just enjoying everyone's company!

Ava the photographer - not a bad picture of Quequel and Marcelo for a small littleness!

The princesses! Tia Stela gave the girls these Snow White and Cinderella costumes...

Ava has not taken hers off in days!!!

It may be October, but it is still plenty warm to have 4 naked babies playing in the water!

Surprise Grandpa!!!! Happy birthday!!!

My very expressive Ava...

Ava is so expressive and a little dramatic, so it was about time that I captured it on camera.  I simply asked her to "make a ... face" and started taking pictures...that kid is too funny!
